CONGRATULATIONS SPAIN FIFA 2010 WORLD CUP WINNERS

Spain’s soccer team won its first FIFA World Cup Tournament beating Netherlands in extra time at Soccer City stadium in Johannesburg. Spain’s Andres Iniesta scored the only goal of the game in the 116th minute of the game. Spain became the first team ever to win the World Cup after being defeated in their opening game. (against Switzerland, 0-1) and are the best soccer nation in the world for both holding the European Championship (2008) and this year, the FIFA World Cup.

Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium - Port Elizabeth

The Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, set on the shores of the North End Lake is the first football dedicated stadium in the city or surrounding areas. The stadium, one of the newly-built stadiums for the 2010 FIFA World Cup™, was completed a year prior to the commencement  of the world's greatest show on earth - a major milestone for the city.

Before the construction of this multi-purpose venue, all international football matches were played at the Eastern Province rugby stadium, the EPRU Stadium. The playing field is going to be of natural grass with the outer /surrounding area to be artificial turf. One of its first major test events  was the coveted Soweto Derby between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs - a game that attracts capacity crowds in South Africa.

Many visiting fans have travelled to South Africa for the first time and will return home with fond memories of the hospitable nature of the country. “South Africans have welcomed us all over,” said Spaniard Raul Rodriguez. “It is an incredible country.
